FITNESS ON THE GO

WORKOUTS FOR TRAVELERS, EXERCISES YOU CAN DO ANYWHERE

As two people who are literally always on the go, the one thing we can guarantee is that life is consistently inconsistent, which if you’re trying to stay healthy and maintain a regular fitness routine it’s not ideal. If you’re here reading this then you probably asking yourself the same question we did- “ How do I get an effective workout in, no matter where I am”?

Problem Meet Solution.

One of the biggest barriers to getting those daily workouts in is preparation. By the time we scan our surroundings and decide what workout we want to do, what was supposed to be a quick 15-minute sweat sesh has now evolved into an hour-long debacle. And nobody likes a debacle. Exercise and fitness should enhance your life, not take away from it. This is why we created this 23-page guide of workouts that can be done anywhere. And when we mean anywhere we mean anywhere, we’ve tested these workouts in airports, train cars, and hotel rooms.

3 Sample Workouts Similar To What You Will Find In The Guide:

Don’t get us wrong, we love a good gym session, but realistically for most of us, our lives are busy. Whether a parent with little time to spare for yourself, a traveler who wakes up in a new place every few days, or just the average person who’s not into the idea of spending thousands of dollars on a gym membership but still wants to work on their well-being. Fitness is for everyone and it doesn’t take a lot of time or equipment to get consistent workouts in on the regular.

MINIMAL EQUIPMENT WORKOUTS

There’s no denying that no equipment needed workouts are the easiest and maybe the best for busy people on the go, but that doesn’t mean they’re the only option. If you’ve got a little extra room/ weight to spare in luggage, RV or whatever means you use to travel the world, then here are a few small items that can make a huge difference in your fitness journey.

A Jump Rope

If you think jumping rope is just for little kids think again. Jumping rope is an excellent way to get in a killer cardio and lower body workout all in one. There are so, so many ways you can work this into any fitness routine, and variations of it (think double unders or skips). For the teeny tiny amount of space a jump rope takes up, it packs a big fitness punch.

Yoga Mat

These days are you even exercising if you don’t own a yoga mat? We kid, we kid, but seriously as cool and useful as they are, they aren’t exactly the most compact item to carry around. The good news is the fitness industry has wised up and there are now loads of “folding” yoga mat options on the market to choose from.

Resistance Bands

Resistance bands just might be one the best tools in the busy fitties tool kit. Small, compact, and lightweight you can practically take these bands anywhere, and with a little creativity and some googling, get a fantastic muscle building workout in.

Foam Roller

It hurts so good, but the benefits far outweigh the tears you’ll spill while you’re raking your IT band across this beast. For the longest time, the problem with foam rollers, like yoga mats has been their packability. But just like with yoga mats, someone out there had a genius idea and invented collapsible foam rollers. You can purchase them in both the lay flat and a telescoping style. Personally, we’re big fans of the lay flat but you’ve got to choose what’s best for you!

MAKE YOUR ADVENTURE YOUR WORKOUT

We are big believers in the power of a daily workout to maintain a healthy mind and body. But, one thing to keep in mind is that a workout doesn’t have to necessarily look like a workout to be a workout. There are so many adventurous activities that will get your blood pumping, your muscles moving, and give you some of the best workouts of your life without you even realizing it.

So on your next trip, instead of opting for brewery hopping (although we fully support that too) why not try something new.

These are all activities, that we’ve tried, test and loved (mostly 🙂), that’ll get you out of your comfort zone and send you straight to adventure land:
