Nothing in Key West is cheap but the sunset is always free ☀️ ⁣ ⁣ And since we’re on the topic of free things to do on this little slice of paradise here are some of our all time favorite free or almost free things to do in Key West.⁣ ⁣ Free: ⁣ 🌅 Sunset, obviously. Sunset celebration is a thing and it happens every night at Mallory Square. Soak in some quality street performances and then watch the sun dip below the horizon. It’s worth the spend, oh wait 😉 ⁣ ⁣ 🤿 Take A Dip, if you want white sandy beaches the Keys probably aren’t what you’re looking for but if you’re into beautiful blue water then you’re in the right spot. Yes, paying for a dive/ snorkel trip to the reefs is absolutely worth it but if you just want to float a few hours away under the sun, it’ll cost you nothing. ⁣ ⁣ 🥭 Market Days, every Thursday on the Truman waterfront from 2-7 pm you stroll the stalls full of island goodies at the Key West Farmers Market. November- April (10 am-2pm) Higgs Beach comes alive with the Key West Artisan Market on Sundays. ⁣ 👀 Stroll around town. Duval street is always a good time for people watching, I promise you’ll see things you’ll probably never forget ( but might want to) 😅 Head over to the Bight for a quieter vibe, if you time it right you can catch the charter boats as they come in and watch the Tarpon and the ocasional shark go crazy for the scraps. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Almost Free:⁣ 🌅 I know we’re double dipping here but let us explain. Mallory square is free and fun but the best sunset views by far take place at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. For a teeny tiny fee you can enjoy the gorgeous views with half the crowds⁣. ⁣ 🍻 Happy Hours, there are loads and loads of them on the island and they’re not all about the cocktails, most restaurants serve up really good discounted food specials. @moondogcafekw and the Boat House are two of the best. ⁣ ⁣ 🐟 Toss a coin into the mouth of the grouper outside of Capt. Tony’s. This is an old Key West tradition that might cost you nothing or you could lose a whole roll of quarters in the process. It’s not easy but it’s fun.
